The first Seminar on Innovations in Human Capital Management in Mining – HRMINING 2010, surpassed all expectations and demonstrated to be a great forum where executives, operators, specialists and professionals of the mining industry, encountered, analysed and discussed recent innovations in human resources management for the mining business. The event gathered more than 190 participants from 6 countries, besides having an excellent technical and social programme.
The event offered attending professionals a unique opportunity to interact with their peers from different countries and to exchange ideas, information and experiences on a variety of subjects related to human resources management in mining.
The two-day technical programme included 45 oral presentations distributed in eight technical sessions named: Human capital, needs and initiatives of the mining sector; Innovations in training professionals and technicians for the mining sector; The organization and people’s development model; Innovations in human capital management; New mining projects; Views, experiences and human capital development model; and New views.
At the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Miguel Angel Durán, president of the Consejo Minero and Anglo American Chile, introduced the subject “Needs and challenges of human capital for the development of the mining industry”.
Besides being an excellent opportunity to create a professional network, the HRMINING Seminar will continue exploring different subjects that affect the mining sector in matters of human capital, to generate and add more value.
